Low Down Payment Options
THINK YOU NEED 20% DOWN TO BUY YOUR FIRST HOME?
That's one of the biggest misconceptions I hear from prospective homebuyers.
Depending on eligibility and qualifications, options may include:
Conventional financing with as little as 3% down
FHA financing with 3.5% down for qualified borrowers with 580+ credit scores
FHA options with 10% down for some qualified borrowers with scores from 550–579
VA financing with potentially 0% down for eligible borrowers
USDA financing with potentially 0% down for eligible borrowers and properties
Down payment assistance programs for qualifying buyers
Minimum requirements don't guarantee approval, and guidelines vary by program and lender.
But here's the important part:
Don't decide that you can't buy a home before finding out what options may actually be available to you.
Maybe you're ready now. Maybe you need six months to improve your credit or save additional money. Either answer is useful.
Let's find out where you stand.
