Let the Buyer Make it Their Own
Does the seller really need to do all the renovating? Maybe not.
Suppose a home has a good location, floor plan and potential—but the kitchen, flooring or other features need updating.
Instead of the seller spending thousands of dollars choosing finishes the future owner may not even want, an eligible buyer may have another option.
Renovation programs such as Fannie Mae HomeStyle®, FHA 203(k), USDA Renovation and VA Renovation may allow qualified buyers to purchase a property and finance eligible improvements with one mortgage.
That doesn't mean every home should be sold as-is. Necessary repairs, market conditions and buyer financing all matter.
But “this house needs updating” doesn't automatically mean “the seller needs to update it.”
Your realtor can help determine what makes sense for the property. I can help explore the financing possibilities for an eligible buyer.
